61-year-old homeless man robbed, beaten in Little Rock

LITTLE ROCK — A homeless man was attacked and robbed in Little Rock’s Forest Hills neighborhood on Wednesday night, according to a police report.
Police were called around 10:40 p.m. to South University Avenue and Berkshire Drive where a homeless man was reportedly walking with a black eye and a laceration. The man, 61, told officers he was walking on 12th Street and was struck, potentially with an object, by a stranger.
“It came out of nowhere,” he told police, according to the report.
The stranger reportedly stole $150. Police said the man had a cut that was bleeding heavily and a hematoma on his right eye. Officers treated the wound while waiting for an ambulance.
The man was taken to UAMS for further treatment. No suspect information was given.
