A couple from Arkansas describes how the weight of the snow caused their carport to collapse

Hot Springs, Florida – One couple in Hot Springs might be enduring the consequences of the winter for some time as the snow starts to melt here in Arkansas.
On Friday night, Danny and Rosemarie Crownover, who reside in Hot Springs just off Central Avenue, experienced an unexpected event when their carport gave way due to the weight of the snow.
“We nearly had a heart attack,” Rosemarie explained.
According to Danny, the incident occurred soon after he returned from his walk to the store.
I took a seat. An hour or so after we finished dinner, we heard a tremendous bang, and it seemed as though something had fallen outside, Danny recounted. “And we arrived at our door and were unable to leave.”
As of Saturday evening, the Crownovers’ front entrance and porch are still totally blocked by the damaged carport.
Although the couple was fortunate to be unharmed, they nevertheless found this to be a frightening circumstance.
“I was really afraid,” Rosemarie remarked. I believed the entire side of the trailer was going to collapse, so I started running. It was really noisy.
Fortunately, there was no damage to the couple’s vehicles either. They had only moved them closer to the road when the snow arrived, which contributed to the carport’s collapse.
Rosemarie remarked, “That’s my favorite car.” We refer to it as a small toaster since it resembles a toaster, which is a cherished vehicle. Everyone at my place of employment is familiar with that tiny toaster automobile. We also believed it had caused the automobile to crash.
Although the occurrence was regrettable, the couple expressed gratitude that it wasn’t worse.
Our grandsons spend a lot of time in the front room, which is also very close to the kitchen window and the door. It might have been far worse, which is why God was with us,” Rosemarie said.
According to the Crownovers, they would like to tell the story in the hopes that it won’t happen to anyone else, particularly another Arkansan.
I want to make a point. Because we’re a little too comfortable with living in this region of the country where these issues don’t exist, be mindful if you have standing snow on your roof,” Danny warned.
Since then, they have spoken with their landlord, who they believe is helpful. Therefore, they’re hoping that they can clean things up and return to normal as quickly as possible.
