After a month-long trek across the Natural State, an Arkansas couple is relieved when their pet emu returns home
Perryville, Arkansas – Many members of the community posted images and videos of Chrissy the emu’s journey to various cities on social media throughout her month-long journey across the Natural State.
How she got away from home is still a mystery, according to her owner Jerry Simecka.
When a neighbor of ours called and asked, “Are you missing an emu?’ I said, ‘I don’t think so,'” Simecka recounted. “One was missing when I went out and began counting them.”
He and his spouse are perplexed by the events of the past few days with their emu.
Simecka stated, “She was seen in Benton, Paron, and Hot Springs.”
Jack, Chrissy’s companion, was also concerned, in addition to him and his spouse.
“The emu we got with her is actually her partner, so he was probably the most upset that she was gone,” Simecka stated.
Officials from Hot Springs Village Animal Control, however, brought her home on Monday, and Chrissy was happily reunited with Jack, her other animal companions, and, of course, two extremely relieved owners.
“I’m glad she’s here, and it’s been good to know that the Arkansas community has been really supportive,” Simecka remarked.
Chrissy’s owners are grateful for everyone’s assistance in getting her home after her trek through Arkansas.
