After many gunshots in southwest Arkansas, a fourth suspect taken into custody
Little Rock, Arkansas – The fourth person detained last week in connection with a spate of shootings in southwest Arkansas that resulted in damage to numerous homes and cars was a 23-year-old man.
After three gunshots in the Hempstead County city the previous Saturday, Randy Caldwell Jr. was hauled into jail at 4:20 p.m. on December 18, according to Hope police.
Caldwell was taken into custody in the 400 block of North Ferguson Street and charged with 37 counts of terroristic acts, three counts of discharging a gun from a vehicle, possession of a firearm by a specific individual, resisting arrest, and possession of a controlled substance, according to a Tuesday Facebook post from the police.
Three of the four shootings that happened on December 16 are thought to have implicated Caldwell, according to the authorities, while the fourth gunshot is thought to have been an isolated event.
In the Hempstead County Detention Center, he is being held on a $250,000 bail pending his initial court appearance scheduled for next month.
Police reported on Wednesday that they had detained one adult and two minors for their alleged roles in the shootings.
According to the authorities, the inquiry is still ongoing.
