Applications for the fifth cohort of the Women’s Economic Mobility Hub are being accepted
Little Rock, Arkansas – With a deadline of May 20, applications are currently being accepted for the Women’s Foundation of Arkansas Fifth Women’s Economic Mobility Hub cohort.
This six-month program helps Black women entrepreneurs by offering them technical support and extra resources, such as a $5,000 grant to help fund their ventures.
“Arkansas has a wealth of talented Black women entrepreneurs poised to make significant contributions to our economy and communities,” said Anna Beth Gorman, CEO of the Women’s Foundation of Arkansas. “Through the WEM Hub program, we aim to support Black women-owned businesses, particularly in underserved regions of our state. This program gives these entrepreneurs the tools, resources and networks they need to thrive.”
Black women can receive a great deal of support through in-person meetings and online trainings that include topics like:
• Technical assistance
• $5,000 in unrestricted grant funds
• Expert advice from industry professionals surrounding topics such as accounting and financial management, business development, legal services and more
• Ongoing mentorship support and counsel
• Peer-to-peer learning sessions
• Communications, public relations and marketing training
• Leadership skills development
• Relationship-building opportunities with participating financial institutions
The WEM Hub is sponsored and supported by the Walton Family Foundation, AT&T, Entergy Arkansas, Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation, U.S. Bank, Bank of America, Arvest Bank, and Wells Fargo.
