Arkansas’s abortion laws could change as a result of a bill

Jonesboro, Arkansas – A piece of legislation currently making its way through the Arkansas legislature might result in significant alterations to the legal framework governing abortion in the state.
If passed, House Bill 1174 would make it possible for a mother to be held criminally responsible for the death of her child.
Protections against ads and other forms of coercion that could put undue pressure on a woman to get an abortion would be included in the proposal if it were passed.
On Thursday, January 19, the bill was sent to the committee that handles judicial matters in the House.
