As the bitter cold returns, warming centers open in Central Arkansas

Little Rock, Arkansas – A cold front is expected to move into Arkansas on Sunday, making this week extremely cold once more.

Many locations throughout Central Arkansas have set up warming shelters to provide folks with a place to remain warm during these bitterly cold temperatures.

Little Rock:

Dunbar Community Center | 1001 W. 16th St. | Open as both a warming center and emergency shelter

Southwest Community Center | 6401 Baseline Road | Open daily from 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Stephens Community Center | 3720 West 18th Street | Open daily from 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

West Central Community Center | 8616 Colonel Glenn Road | Open daily from 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

North Little Rock:

North Little Rock Community Center | 2700 North Willow Street | Opens January 19, 2025 at 6:00 a.m.

Benton:

Northside Church of Christ | 917 N. East St. | Opens January 19, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. through January 22, 2025, at 12:00 p.m.

Conway:

Don Owen Sports Center | 10 Lower Ridge Rd. | Opens January 18, 2025, at 5:00 p.m.

Hot Springs:

Hot Springs Community Resource Center | 109 Hobson Avenue | Opens January 18, 2025 at 3:00 p.m.

Jacksonville:

First Presbyterian Church | 1208 W. Main Street | Open January 18, 2025 – January 22, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. through 8:00 a.m.
