Calvin Davis, a former Razorback and Olympic medalist, passes away at 51

Little Rock, Arkansas – Calvin Davis, who won the 400-meter hurdles bronze medal in the Atlanta Olympics in 1996, has passed away. He was 51.
Davis passed away on Monday, according to the University of Arkansas, where he studied. The death was also verified by USA Track and Field. The reason wasn’t stated.
Early in his career, Davis ran the 400 meters, but the 400 hurdles became his event of choice. At the Olympics in 1996, he came in last place, trailing teammate Derrick Adkins and Zambia’s Samuel Matete.
Davis, an Alabama native, excelled in football and track in high school before enrolling at Wallace State Community College in Hanceville. He moved to Arkansas, where he competed in the 400 and won NCAA championships.
In 1995, Davis competed for the United States in the 4×400 relay team that won the global indoor championships in Spain.
He began converting to hurdles shortly after and later worked as a coach.
