Community cannonballs into opening day

Jonesboro, Arkansas – On the first day of the new season at a nearby water park, there were cannonballs, waterslides, and plenty of sun exposure.

The Paragould Community Center’s water park has been anticipated by locals all spring. On Saturday, May 25, the Paragould Water Park opened with a queue out the door.
On opening day, families came from far and wide to splash around.

Mandy Singleton, a resident of Brookland, remarked that leaving the house with her family felt nice, even if it was only a short drive away. She brought Kullen and Kylie, her two children, along with her husband. Kylie claimed that her passion of swimming makes her a huge admirer of the waterpark. Kullen declared himself “glad to be outside in the sun.”

“It was fun to get out and have some fun with the kids, and this is a good place to be,” Singleton said.

Many people were reluctant to part from their loved ones. Shantell Cannimore, a resident of Jonesboro, thought that bringing her children was the greatest option. Lorine Carter, a resident of Memphis, drove down accompanied by her sisters, relatives, and grandchildren.

A pleasant day in the water was had by people of all ages. While some played in the kid-sized pool, others went down slides or leaped off the diving board.

The ones in the red bikinis are keeping a careful eye on everything. Leighann Gantt, the manager of lifeguards, stated that the safety crew was well-prepared for the upcoming holiday weekend. On opening day, she added, there were fifteen lifeguards on duty.

“We have 15 because we’re expecting a big crowd,” Gantt said. “We have several lifeguards to make sure everyone stays safe and has fun.”

Gantt announced that the community center has a ton of exciting events scheduled for the next summer.

The cost of admission to the park is $7 per person, according to the city website. Every day of the week from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., the water park is open. The season ends in September.
