Confirmed EF-1 tornado near East Sardis Road

Sardis, Arkansas – Survey teams from the National Weather Service Little Rock have verified that on Saturday, an EF-1 tornado touched down in Saline County near East End and Sardis.
According to reports, the tornado touched down on February 9 between 6:45 and 6:49 p.m., with gusts reaching up to 95 mph and a 500-yard width.
The tornado traveled a course that was roughly 2.54 miles long.
The tornado did not result in any confirmed casualties or fatalities, although it did create damage, including toppled trees and electricity lines. A house on Sardis Road was reported to have been struck by a falling tree.
Saline County Road and Bridge has been working to assist clear the roads, while First Electric and Entergy have been monitoring the region to make sure that felled powerlines are safe and not activated.
To ensure everyone is safe and that items can be removed as soon as possible, the Saline County Office of Emergency Management and the East End Fire Department have been evaluating the damage.
