Drivers should be aware of upcoming road closures as the Little Rock Marathon starts this weekend

Little Rock, Arkansas – Thousands of runners will start the Little Rock Marathon on Saturday morning with the goal of crossing the finish line.
Every year, the first weekend in March is designated as Little Rock Marathon Race Weekend, which includes a half-marathon, marathon, 10K, 5K run/walk, children’s mile, and a free two-day health and fitness expo.
7:30 a.m. will see the start of the Little Rock 5K Fun Run/Walk and 10K on LaHarpe Street behind the Statehouse Convention Center.
The following significant road closures should be noted by motorists:
• LaHarpe Blvd. will close in both directions, from State Street to President Clinton Avenue Friday from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. Sunday night.
• Main, Louisiana, and Center Streets northbound at Markham Street Saturday from 6 a.m. until 2 p.m.
• Main Street northbound at Second Street Markham Street from Center to Cumberland Saturday from 6 a.m. until 2 p.m.
• Markham Street from Center to Cumberland Saturday from 6 a.m. until 1 p.m.
• Broadway Bridge southbound to Cantrell Road Saturday from 6 a.m. until 2 p.m.
• Cantrell Hill eastbound lane from Lookout to Cedar Hill Sunday from 5 a.m. until 3 p.m.
• Main, Louisiana, and Center Streets northbound at Markham Street Sunday from 5 a.m. until 2 p.m.
• Main northbound at Second Street Sunday from 5 a.m. until 2 p.m.
• Broadway Bridge southbound to Cantrell Road Sunday from 5 a.m. until 4 p.m.
• Brookwood Drive southbound at Cedar Hill Sunday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
