Due to dangerously low levels, the Hot Springs asked residents to conserve water

Hot Springs, Arkansas – As a result of extremely low water levels, the City of Hot Springs has requested that its residents try to reduce the amount of water they use in order to contribute to the conservation effort.

Crews have been working nonstop and have been able to determine that the extremely low temperatures were the cause of multiple water line breaks. They are currently working to locate any water leaks that have resulted from burst pipes and to also turn off any meters that are associated with those leaks.

The City Manager of Hot Springs, Bill Burrough, explained that water is essential for meeting the requirements of firefighting and that practicing water conservation will ensure that everyone will continue to have access to water.

“Please do everything you can to save water during this time – skip a shower, skip a bath, leave a drip running overnight, rather than a stream – conserve as much as you can,” he added.

Please call the 24/7 Utilities Emergency Hotline at (501) 321-6200 if you need to report a water leak. The number is always available.
