During the summer, Pulaski County offers meal programs

Pulaski County, Arkansas – The summer is almost here, and the Pulaski County Special School District (PCSSD) is providing multi-day meal boxes to families in the county when kids go out of school for summer break.

In addition to PCSSD, several other organizations are also providing free summer meals: the North Little Rock Public Library System (NLRPLS) and the Central Arkansas Library System (CALS).

For families with children under the age of 18, there will be two pick-up locations where families may pick up their five-day meal box.

There will be two locations: Cato Elementary, located at 9906 Jacksonville-Cato Road near Sherwood, and Mills University Studies High School, located at 708 E. Dixon Road in Little Rock.

Beginning on June 6 and continuing through August 8, meal delivery will take place every Thursday between the hours of 7:00 and 11:00 a.m., or until food runs out.

Meals are provided without the need for registration or a minimum income.

Through Be Mighty Little Rock, CALS is providing free meals to children and teenagers who are 18 years of age or younger. There will be lunches and a variety of activities available at several library branches to support children’s learning and physical activity.

The Bridge 2 Success Food Program is being introduced by the NLRPLS at both of these locations.

Kids ages 2 to 18 can get free grab-and-go meals at the William F. Laman Public Library, which is situated at 2801 Orange Street, starting on June 3, 2024. You can pick these up Monday through Friday from twelve to one in the afternoon.

All ages are welcome to participate in the program at the Argenta Library, which starts on June 3 and offers breakfast from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. and lunch from noon to 1:00 p.m.
