Free public lecture about chronic wasting disease in Arkansas will be held at Hobbs State Park

Little Rock, Arkansas – On Sunday, October 1, there will be an educational event about Chronic Wasting Disease at Hobbs State Park-Conservation Area.
The event is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. at 20201 E. Highway 12, Rogers, which is the park’s visitor center. The Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage, and Tourism stated in a press release that there is no need for reservations and that the event is free and available to the general public.
A.J. Riggs, a wildlife health biologist with Arkansas Game and Fish, will provide an update on CWD, a disease that affects deer.
Animals infected with the disease die from it, and there are no known cures or vaccinations.
Although there haven’t been any documented instances of CWD infections in humans, certain research has led to worries about the possibility of human infection.
The most recent data on CWD in Arkansas, particularly in the Hobbs State Park-Conservation Area, will be supplied by Riggs.
