In Jefferson County, a multi-agency investigation finds $100,000 worth of cocaine

Little Rock, Arkansas – In Jefferson County, one kilo of cocaine, valued at about $100,000, was recovered on Friday by a number of authorities.
One kilogram of cocaine was found in Jefferson County thanks to the efforts of the Tri-County Drug Task Force, the United States Department of Homeland Security, the Arkansas State Police, and Pine Bluff Vice and Narcotics investigators.
The off-white substance within the suspicious package, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, tested positive for cocaine at 11:51 a.m.
One suspect was apprehended by authorities and is now being held in prison.
Sheriff Lafayette Woods, Jr. said “This successful seizure of one kilo of cocaine highlights the power of collaboration and the unwavering dedication of the law enforcement agencies involved. We are committed to investigating, disrupting, and dismantling drug traffickers who operate within our jurisdiction.”
A class Y felony is being in possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver it. If the suspect is found guilty, they could face a sentence of at least ten years, up to forty years, or perhaps life in prison.
“This operation demonstrates our determination to ensure the safety and well-being of our community by aggressively pursuing individuals involved in drug trafficking,” said Sheriff Woods. “We will continue our relentless efforts to investigate, disrupt, and dismantle criminal networks that pose a threat to our county.”
