In July, Summit Utilities will start disconnecting again

Little Rock, Arkansas – Customers whose bills are unpaid will soon have their services disconnected by Summit Utilities.
This happened months after the business shut down due to billing problems that are currently being looked into.
Beginning in July, the business will restart its regular collection practices, which include assessing late penalties and disconnecting clients who fail to make payments.
The business ceased operations last October when it changed its name from Centerpoint to Summit Utilities.
Customers then began receiving extraordinarily high bills for their natural gas usage.
“As we implemented, we knew there might be some hiccups. We did have one hiccup and we fixed it,” said Brian Bowen Senior Director of External Affairs for Summit Utilities.
Those who are still having trouble paying their bills are being given assistance by the company. This covers payment plans and the choice to average your bills during periods of high usage.
Natural gas prices have decreased, according to Summit, which means your bills will as well.
“It went from a $1.22 per CCF down to about $0.69 per CCF, so our customers should see pretty significant reductions on their monthly bills in the upcoming months,” said Bowen.
The Arkansas Public Service Commission is still looking into Summit’s billing procedures and natural gas purchases.
The commission is currently considering the parties’ statements, and later this year, a hearing to assess the material is anticipated.
“Especially like when I get books,” Sewell said. “Sometimes there might be doubles in there.”
Sewell is inspired to return the favors since she has received so much.
“I just like helping others,” Sewell said. “I think it’s important that others give to each other.”
On March 31, two EF-3 tornadoes struck Arkansas. Since then, a number of neighbors have changed their priorities to help those affected.
