According to Ronnie Sturch, the director of Craighead County-Jonesboro E911, the five-year-old kid collided with a pole at the Jonesboro Kindergarten Center on Thursday afternoon.
The boy was treated by a school nurse, and 911 was dialed.
“Dispatch sent an ambulance,” Sturch said. “Emerson Ambulance Service called for a helicopter.”
The youngster was then transported by paramedics to Jonesboro High School’s Academies so that a medical helicopter could land there.
The youngster was then airlifted to a hospital in Memphis.
Kim Wilbanks, the superintendent, noted that the student was “alert and responsive, and the mother was with the child.”
