Conway, Arkansas – The latest Covid-19 report issued by Arkansas Department of Health on Saturday still shows high number again, but the positive thing is that vaccination process is seeing an increasing trend in the last couple of days.
According to the Saturday’s report, Arkansas added 1,339 new cases and 18 additional deaths.
Since the start of the pandemic, the total number of positive cases across the state reached 386,452, while the total number of deaths is 6,141.
There are 18,790 active cases right now, which is 249 more compared to Friday’s report.
The number of hospitalizations grew to 1,105, which is 18 more compared to yesterday’s report. There are 222 people on ventilators in critical condition, 3 more since yesterday.
What is important to point out is the fact that lately more people are getting the vaccines across Arkansas. Since yesterday, 3,334 Arkansans were immunized. This brings the total number of fully immunized people to 1,059,781.
The number of partially immunized Arkansans jumped by 6,507 cases in the last 24 hours, putting the total at 308,617.
This is what Gov. Hutchinson said on Twitter shortly after the report was issued:
Today’s report provides us with some good news on the vaccine front. Almost 13,000 doses administered helps us get closer to our goal, but the continued, steady increase in hospitalizations puts a strain on our health care workers.
