Little Rock is expecting thousands of visitors to see the solar eclipse in April

Little Rock, Arkansas – The solar eclipse that will occur over the sky of Arkansas is less than 70 days away.

Little Rock is getting ready and organizing extensively since thousands of people will be in the city to see it.

“We’re anticipating as many as one and a half million visitors to our state,” Jeff Chastain with the Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau said.

People from all over the country are going to Little Rock to witness this once-in-a-lifetime event since it is situated in the path of the solar eclipse.

There will be several tourism activities during the weekend, according to Chastain, one of which is a three-day concert at the First Security Amphitheater preceding the eclipse day.

On Saturday, April 6 from 6 to 8 p.m., Rodney Block Collective & All-Star Friends will kick off the event. Ward Davis will then take the stage on Sunday from 7 to 9:30 p.m.

The Machine will play on April 8, the day of the solar eclipse, beginning at 12:30 p.m.

According to Chastain, music won’t be playing while the solar eclipse is happening.

“This is something that won’t happen again in Little Rock for 21 years,” Chastain said.

“There is going to be a lot of people and it won’t just be downtown,” he said. “It will be all over Little Rock.”

This implies that such folks require lodging. The Little Rock Marriott stated that they anticipate being completely reserved.

“It’s going to be crazy in Little Rock,” Marriot General Manager David Lang said.

According to Lang, the hotel often doesn’t have many reservations made well in advance, but on the weekend of the solar eclipse, this isn’t the case.

“We’ve got people that’s been calling up to a year ago wanting to book rooms for the eclipse,” Lang said. “We get a lot of high-demand weekends here, but this is special. The eclipse is a big, big deal.”
