Lottery tickets and gift certificates for everyone who receives Covid-19 vaccine, Gov. Asa Hutchinson

Conway, Arkansas – Lottery tickets and gift certificates, everyone vaccinated will be eligible to get one or another, Gov. Asa Hutchinson said in a statement Tuesday.
Those who get vaccinated beginning May 25 will have a choice of winning an Arkansas Lottery Scholarship $20 scratch-off ticket or a $20 gift certificate for the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission.
The scratch-off ticket is for the $1 Million Spectacular game. The gift certificates can be used for fishing and/or hunting licenses.
The Governor said the whole project cost around 2m dollars. A total of 50,000 scratch-off tickets and 50,000 gift certificates were bought for first 100,000 to receive the vaccine from today and on.
Those already vaccinated will not be eligible to receive any of the ‘prizes.’
Arkansas is not the only state to organize vaccination lottery. Some other states like Ohio and New York announced earlier this month to give away different prizes. These kinds of prizes are popular recently as some countries are struggling with vaccination.
Arkansas has one of the lowest vaccination rates in the country. Only 39% of the population has received at least one dose of the vaccine.
