Red Cross requests donations around the holidays
Jonesboro, Arkansas – The American Red Cross is requesting assistance during the Christmas season following a year in which there were over 25 disasters in the nation that cost $1 billion or more.
The American Red Cross is requesting that people think about volunteering or making a donation on Giving Tuesday in a press release.
According to the Red Cross, it provided assistance to around 500 families in Southeast Missouri and Northeast Arkansas alone this year. It’s said that every money and volunteer counts.
“It goes a long way in being able to help those individuals and families who are suffering like I said, whether it be home, fire, or a natural disaster like a tornado,” said John Brimley, Regional Communications Manager for the American Red Cross.
