Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced additional appointments to her senior staff
Little Rock, Arkansas – The newly elected governor, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, has revealed who will be on her senior staff.
“I am excited to add two highly qualified and exceptional women to our growing team,” said Sanders.”Alexa is a strong, talented communicator who served alongside me at the White House and Mary Ashleigh brings a servant’s heart with an eye for detail to assist my family and me in the Governor’s Mansion. Both are tremendous additions to our team who will help me effectively lead our state and serve our people.”
Alexa Henning serves as her director of communications.
Henning most recently worked as U.S. Senator Ron Johnson’s deputy chief of staff, spokeswoman, and senior advisor for the senator’s 2022 reelection campaign.
Prior to that, Henning served as the Director of Media Affairs for the 2020 campaign of Donald J. Trump for President as well as the former Director of Broadcast Media in the Trump White House.
Along with working for U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, she also worked for the political and public affairs firm Jamestown Associates.
Mary Ashleigh Harper is in charge of running the governor’s mansion.
Harper will join the team after serving the state for eight years in public service.
She has been employed for the past three years as an Arkansas Rural Health Partnership representative and as the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences Education Coordinator.
She worked at UAMS briefly before beginning to teach first grade at Noble-Allbritton Elementary School in the Hamburg School District.
Harper has also worked in Governor Hutchinson’s office as the First Lady of Arkansas’ Coordinator.
