St. Mark Baptist Church in Little Rock celebrates annual Feast of Hope

Little Rock, Arkansas – One church in Little Rock is concentrating on giving back during this season of thanksgiving.
The annual Feast of Hope was hosted this morning at St. Mark Baptist Church, where people in need were given a hot Thanksgiving meal, food boxes, hygiene kits, and even vaccinations.
In addition, volunteers provided sleeping bags and gently worn clothing, and the Arkansas Department of Health provided on-site COVID and flu vaccinations.
Glenn Hersey, the outreach pastor, emphasized that the gathering is only one way the congregation can spread love throughout the holiday season.
“We’ve been doing this for over 15 years,” Hersey said. “It’s just our way of giving back to the community for what the Lord has done for us. It’s an exciting day. One volunteer has said this is his favorite time of year, so it’s just a matter of going out there and blessing the people.”
Beginning at 10:00 am, volunteers from Calvary Baptist Church and the Links Little Rock chapter worked the food and pickup lines.
Hersey stated that a follow-up event will be held by the church perhaps in December.
