State police report that during two traffic stops, over 345 pounds of illegal marijuana were found

Franklin County, Arkansas – Over three hundred and forty-five pounds of illegal marijuana were reportedly recovered by the Arkansas State Police during two separate traffic stops in Franklin County, which resulted in double arrests.

On Monday, July 29, state police made a traffic stop on Interstate 40 eastbound near the 43-mile sign for a violation of traffic laws. The vehicle in question was a 2020 black Chevrolet Silverado.

After conducting a check of the vehicle, it was discovered that the truck bed contained seven huge trash bags that contained 145 pounds of marijuana that was prohibited.

Steven McGee, 34 years old, a resident of Halstead, Kansas, was taken into custody by the state police. Following his transportation to the Franklin County Detention Center, he was booked on felony counts of possessing a controlled substance with the intent to supply it as well as possessing drug paraphernalia.

On Thursday, July 25, state troopers in Franklin County, Indiana, pulled down a black 2014 Dodge pickup truck that was traveling eastbound on Interstate 40 at the 40-mile marker for a traffic infraction.

They found seven huge trash bags carrying 202 pounds of illicit marijuana in the bed of the pickup truck after searching the vehicle. The bags were found in the truck with the pickup truck.

Troopers detained the motorist, identified as Brent Pope, who was 42 years old and from Strawberry Plains, Tennessee. In addition to being charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, he was also charged with felony possession with the intent to deliver.
