Teenagers from Northeast Arkansas detained for stealing vehicles

Little Rock, Arkansas – Jonesboro police have detained one juvenile and are looking for another who was engaged in two stolen car offenses as central Arkansans report a rise in teen violence and crime.
Tuesday, Jonesboro Police Department officers Thomas Nash and Anthony Zaffarano observed two cars speeding west at 80 mph in a 35 mph zone on a residential lane.
Silver pickup vehicle was pulled over by authorities as a black Jeep SUV eluded the other officers.
The pickup truck’s driver reportedly told police that he was sending his brother to the hospital when they questioned him about why he was driving so quickly, according to the station.
The patrolman only realized the motorist was a minor without a valid driver’s license when the officer reportedly inquired for the driver’s ID.
Additionally, the station reported that the officer found automobiles with stolen license plates.
Within 48 hours, a probation officer was informed of the occurrence and given the parents’ contact information.
