The drought affects Little Rock residents and businesses

Little Rock, Arkansas – Many citizens and companies are still very concerned about the state’s increasing drought circumstances.

The drought is affecting the number of clients that The Good Earth Garden Center’s horticulture Jennifer Gibson would see during the fall planting season.

According to Gibson, “We typically have a lot of customers coming in to renovate their landscape, and that’s the customer we haven’t seen.” “I’m sure it’s much lower, but I don’t have an overall figure.”

According to her, the drought has only had a few benefits for their company, and one of those is related to a flower.

Gibson remarked, “The added benefit of no rain is that our mum blooms are continuing to look lovely.”

According to Gibson, maintaining the beauty and hydration of all the plants they care for, including flowers, trees, and shrubs, is expensive.

“I have no doubt that our October irrigation bill is up,” Gibson stated. Because of the heat and drought, we are still watering trees and bushes every day even though we might not normally run automated irrigation. The majority of items are watered daily, and we also hand water while we inspect everything.

To ensure that the drought doesn’t affect her plants, Janet Johnson, a resident of Little Rock, is also investing more time in watering them.

Johnson stated, “I water my plants for two hours in the front, an additional hour on the side, and an additional hour out back of the house.”

Johnson claimed to have made significant financial investments in her flowers and plants.

“I adore observing them,” Johnson remarked. “I just love seeing things grow, and I love keeping the weeds out.”

Both of them expressed hope that rain will arrive soon and put an end to the drought.
