This Easter weekend, churches will giving back; how you can participate

Little Rock, Arkansas – One of the numerous churches and organizations that will incorporate volunteer work into their Easter weekend programs is Church at Rock Creek.
Normally, Easter egg hunts, church services, and family get-togethers fill the calendar, but a week after the tornado on March 31, there is still much cleanup to be done in the state.
“Of all the weekends to be serving and giving and loving… there’s not better weekend than Easter weekend. Jesus said to serve and not be served and Christ followers want to imitate Jesus. Right? ,” Church at Rock Creek, Pastor, Jason Curry said.
To help with cleanup, roofing, transferring residents, and other disaster relief efforts, Rock Creek has partnered with the Arkansas Baptist Disaster Relief team.
A group will gather at Rock Creek on this Saturday, April 8th, at 9 am to begin the day’s volunteer activity.
However, the Easter holiday won’t be the only time you can give back. Curry stated that as long as restoration activities are required, they will be addressing as many needs as they can.
Curry advised the people to keep in mind that even if they choose not to work with them, they should still get involved in some way to help bring about the change.
“The measure of our faith is always our love for others… so as we grow in our walk with Christ, Jesus always leads us to love others. And the tangible fruit of the walk with Christ is making him know to the people around us and that happens through love,” Curry said.
