Two grads of Little Rock Catholic High School participating in Super Bowl LIX

Little Rock, Arkansas – Among those contributing to Super Bowl LIX being one of the year’s most anticipated national events are two Little Rock Catholic High School graduates.
Jonah Monroe, who graduated in 1997, and Nathan Sampson, who graduated in 2011, will be present at the Super Bowl this weekend, but they will not be participating in the game.
As part of the celebration of the Marine Corps’ 250th anniversary, Major Sampson will fly over Caesar’s Superdome.
“We’re going to be coming in over the top of the stadium when that national anthem hits its closing note there,” Sampson stated.
Referee Monroe will serve as a backjudge. “I’m very proud to represent Catholic High in the Super Bowl,” Jonah wrote in an email to his alma mater, despite NFL communications prohibiting any interview with game officials. Sincerely (and in private) I started crying when I thought of Father Tribou Catholic High and how it affected my path to this point. Go, Rockets!
According to Principal Steve Straessle, “Catholic High set you up to fulfill the Super Bowl of whatever your passion is.”
Straessle instructed both pupils. He refers to them as an inspiration. Regarding the school that shaped them, both would agree.
According to Sampson, “Catholic High is a place that changes lives.” The fact that we continue to have individuals who wind up with these kinds of opportunities over the years, in my opinion, speaks volumes. It’s not an accident, in my opinion.
