Winners of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra talent show are set to take the stage in the upcoming ‘Home for the Holidays’ concert

Little Rock, Arkansas – The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra is preparing for its upcoming “Home of the Holidays” concert, featuring two champions from its Arkansas Talent singing competition.

Marcus Murphy and Kim Qualls, the winners of the talent show, are set to headline an exciting performance alongside the ASO and a 100-member choir featuring students from Little Rock Central High School, Little Rock Parkview High School, and Bryant High School.

The event is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20, and Saturday, Dec. 21, with an additional showing at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 22, taking place at the Robinson Center. The concert will feature a selection of songs, including the concert suite from “The Polar Express,” Donny Hathaway’s “This Christmas,” and Céline Dion’s “The Prayer,” among others.

“Celebrating the season with the ASO and over 100 guest vocalists from central Arkansas brings immense joy,” stated ASO Music Director Geoffrey Robson. “This concert highlights the incredible musical talent and skill that is present in our community.” The winners of last year’s Arkansas Talent vocal competition, Marcus Murphy and Kim Qualls, will be highlighted. In May, Murphy and Qualls emerged victorious in the Arkansas Talent singing competition. The concert will include an original track by Qualls titled “Come and Behold.”

“What I appreciate most about the ‘Home for the Holidays’ concerts is the way so many beloved classic songs unite in such a magnificent display,” she remarked. “I have always loved ‘O Holy Night’ and ‘The First Noel,’ and this year, I’m thrilled to share one of my original songs that celebrates the birth of Jesus. It emphasizes how we are still invited to come and behold this savior of the world!”
